Gruzja to piękny kraj, cudowny krajobraz, przepiękne widoki, wspaniali gościnni ludzie, doskonałe jedzenie i wyśmienite wino. Jednak wielu turystów powracających z Gruzji nie może podnieść się z przygnębiających widoków przeogromnej psiej bezdomności, jaką spotyka się na każdym kroku. Psy są wszędzie, na drogach, przy sklepach, na polach, głodne, schorowane, postrzelone, kulejące po potraceniach, szukające turystów, którzy choć na moment przystaną, którzy nakarmią, którzy pochylą się aby pogłaskać. Szacuje się, że na ulicach Gruzji w takich warunkach żyje ponad pół miliona psów, przy zaludnieniu 3,7 mln mieszkańców. Skala bezdomności więc jest porażająca. Nie ma systemowych rozwiązań, a nieliczne fundacje nie są w stanie zapanować nad niekontrolowaną rozrodczością. Nieliczni turyści są tak zdeterminowani, że na miejscu znajdują dom tymczasowy, opłacają utrzymanie i leczenie, a po okresie kwarantanny ściągają psiaka do siebie. Coraz więcej osób zgłasza się do nas o pomoc, a my chętnie tłumaczymy zawiłości prawne i pomagamy przejść procedury adopcyjne, które średnio trwają ok 4 miesięcy (odrobaczenie, szczepienie, czipowanie, miareczkowanie, 3 miesięczna kwarantanna, dokumentacja adopcyjna i paszport).
Na co dzień współpracujemy z Dog Organization Georgia, gdzie pomagamy znajdować psiakom gotowym do międzynarodowych adopcji domy stałe bądź tymczasowe. Pomagamy również w ich transporcie. Do tego potrzebujemy ochotników, turystów, którzy wracają z Tbilisi linami LOT lub LUFTHANSA do Warszawy, Wrocławia, Berlina, czy Pragi i zechcieliby zostać prawnym opiekunem psiaka podczas lotu (niestety tanie linie Ryanair i Wizzair nie przewożą zwierząt). O nic nie musisz się martwić – nasi gruzińscy wolontariusze przygotują wszystkie dokumenty i dowiozą psiaka na lotnisko. Niestety pies sam podróżować nie może i musi być „przypisany” do czyjegoś biletu jak bilet. A na lotnisku docelowym będzie na Was już czekał dom adopcyjny lub nasz wolontariusz, który odbierze psa i dostarczy go do domu tymczasowego.
Brak systemowych rozwiązań nie pozwala pomagać na wielką skalę, schronisk jest niewiele, miejsca są ograniczone, ale każda uratowana dusza zwalnia miejsce w schronisku kolejnej. A tak wiele ich czeka na pomoc.

Stray dogs in Georgia – ANIMAL HEROES NEEDED!!!
The country of Georgia is a beautiful place, full of wonderful nature, stunning views, friendly people, delicious food and very good wine. Many tourists visiting Georgia are shocked how many stray dogs there are. Dogs are everywhere! They live along the roads, at the gas stations, close to the stores and restaurants, and parking lots. They are hungry, very often have many diseases, they get shot, and hit by cars. They are always happy to see humans, hoping they can give them something to eat and desiring a little of our attention and love.
Georgia is a small country, only 3.7mln people live there. In such a small country there can be even half a million stray dogs. There are no good solutions implemented by the government. Just a few foundations helping the dogs are definitely not enough for such a huge number of stray dogs in need.
Tourists are rarely determined to find foster homes for a dog they fell in love with. They don’t usually pay for the treatment, needed vaccinations and get the dog ready to fly to their new homes. More and more people are contacting us asking for a help. We are more than happy to explain all the rules of bringing dogs to EU, help get through all the procedures, which takes more or less 4 months (deworming, vaccinations, chip, passport, blood test and several needed documents).
We cooperate with Dog Organization Georgia to help them find loving homes. They already have many dogs at their shelter which are ready for international adoption. We are helping with transportation. That’s why we need people who are traveling with LOT or Lufthansa from Tbilisi to Warsaw, Wroclaw, Berlin or Prague and who will be willing to take a dog with them (unfortunately Ryan and Wizzair do not allow pets). As a flight volunteer, you don’t have to worry about anything – DOG volunteers will bring the dog to the airport. At the destination airport, the parents will be waiting with their new dog or our volunteer who will pick the dog up.
There aren’t many shelters and not many dogs can be taken care of. Every dog who we find homes for outside of Georgia is making space in the shelter for other stray dogs in need. So many of them are waiting for this!

Obdachlosigkeit in Georgien- TIERHELDEN GESUCHT!!!
Georgien ist ein wunderschönes Land, eine herrliche Landschaft, traumhafte Aussichten, wunderbare gastfreundliche Menschen, ausgezeichnetes Essen und köstlicher Wein. Viele Touristen, die aus Georgien zurückkehren, können sich jedoch nicht von dem deprimierenden Anblick der überwältigenden Obdachlosigkeit von Hunden losreißen, die ihnen auf Schritt und Tritt begegnen. Überall auf den Straßen, in den Geschäften und auf den Feldern sind Hunde zu sehen, hungrig, krank, erschossen, humpelnd, nachdem sie überfahren wurden, auf der Suche nach Touristen, die kurz anhalten, sie füttern oder sich bücken, um sie zu streicheln. Schätzungen zufolge leben in Georgien mit seinen 3,7 Millionen Einwohnern mehr als eine halbe Million Hunde unter solchen Bedingungen auf der Straße. Das Ausmaß der Obdachlosigkeit ist also überwältigend. Es gibt keine systemischen Lösungen, und die wenigen Stiftungen sind nicht in der Lage, die unkontrollierte Vermehrung in Griff zu kriegen. Die wenigen Touristen sind so entschlossen, dass sie vor Ort ein vorübergehendes Zuhause finden, für den Unterhalt und die Behandlung aufkommen und den Hund nach einer Zeit der Quarantäne wieder nach Hause bringen. Immer mehr Menschen wenden sich hilfesuchend an uns, und wir sind gerne bereit, ihnen die komplizierte Rechtslage zu erläutern und ihnen bei den Adoptionsverfahren zu helfen, die im Durchschnitt etwa vier Monate dauern (Entwurmung, Impfung, Chippen, Titration, dreimonatige Quarantäne, Adoptionsdokumente und Pass).
Wir arbeiten täglich mit der Hundeorganisation Georgien zusammen, wo wir dabei helfen, ein dauerhaftes oder vorübergehendes Zuhause für Hunde zu finden, die für internationale Adoptionen bereit sind. Wir helfen auch beim Transport der Hunde. Dafür brauchen wir Freiwillige, Touristen, die mit den Fluggesellschaften LOT oder LUFTHANSA von Tiflis nach Warschau, Wrocław, Berlin oder Prag zurückfliegen und während des Fluges die gesetzliche Vormundschaft für einen Hund übernehmen möchten (die Billigfluggesellschaften Ryanair und Wizzair transportieren leider keine Tiere). Sie brauchen sich um nichts zu kümmern – unsere georgischen Freiwilligen werden alle Dokumente vorbereiten und den Hund zum Flughafen bringen. Leider kann der Hund nicht allein reisen und muss wie ein Ticket jemandem „zugewiesen” werden. Und am Zielflughafen wartet bereits eine Adoptivfamilie oder unser Freiwilliger auf Sie, um den Hund abzuholen und ihn in ein vorübergehendes Zuhause zu bringen.
Der Mangel an systemischen Lösungen hindert uns daran, in großem Umfang zu helfen. Die Tierheime sind rar, die Plätze sind begrenzt, aber jede gerettete Seele macht im Tierheim Platz für eine andere frei. Und es gibt so viele, die darauf warten, dass ihnen geholfen wird.
